  The International Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy
was formed in 1989 by a group committed endoscopists from Europe and North America, who were soon joined by others from all over the world. They recognized the need for a scientific group who would meet at regular intervals to share their knowledge and expertise in gynecologic endoscopy.
   
  European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE)
Since its foundation in 1994, the European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE) has aimed to encourage the exchange of clinical experience, scientific thought and investigation among European gynaecological endoscopists and practitioners in related techniques.

The AAGL vision is to serve women by advancing the safest and most efficacious diagnostic and therapeutic techniques that provide less invasive treatments for gynecologic conditions through integration of clinical practice, research, innovation, and dialogue.

The South African Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, was formed in 1946. From the onset the aim was to form an uniting body for gynaecologists. Initially and for many years the main objectives were to organise congresses and meetings, to negotiate for a proper fee structure and to make comments on obstetrical and gynaecological training in South Africa.
